Welcome!
Welcome to my website—a dedicated resource for anyone passionate about parrot health and wellbeing. My mission is simple: to help you unlock the profound connection between nutrition and your parrot’s health, happiness, and behavior. Years of working with parrots have shown me that nutrition is the cornerstone of a thriving companion bird, and that many behavioral and medical issues can be traced back to overfeeding and imbalanced diets. Here, you’ll find evidence-based guidance and practical tools designed to empower you to make informed choices, enriching both your parrot’s life and your relationship with them.
My Story
Parrots entered my life unexpectedly, but my journey with animals began much earlier. Growing up on a hobby farm surrounded by over two dozen species of poultry and livestock, and developing a strong background in horse training from a young age, I learned firsthand the profound connection between animal care, nutrition, and behavior. This upbringing instilled in me a drive to seek out the best practices for all animals in my care—methods grounded in science and a deep respect for each species’ unique needs.
When I first began working with parrots, I drew on my broad foundation in animal physiology, training, and behaviour to guide my learning. I immersed myself in scientific journals and reputable websites, searching for better, evidence-based ways to care for these intelligent birds. My brief experience with parrot behaviour training under Pamela Clark quickly revealed the limits of mainstream approaches. They are based on psychology, behaviour and training of domesticated species and even predator, instead of prey species. Horse training more closely aligned with parrots. Parrots being wild animals(not domesticated) only added to their complexity, so an individualised approach was much better.

Online communities presented another challenge: misinformation spreads rapidly and is often repeated uncritically simply because it comes from popular social figures. Fact-checking and science-backed discussion are rarely prioritised. I realised that what was missing from the conversation wasn’t passion, but critical thinking and reliable, well-sourced information.
Over time, my focus shifted to addressing the root cause of most parrot problems—nutrition. When you provide the right diet matched to a parrots' actual needs, so many health and behavioural issues become easier to manage or even disappear altogether. My Balanced Natural Diet feeding system grew out of this philosophy and is just one part of what I teach. It's the reason why my Parrot Nutrition Course is comprehensive: it covers all major feeding approaches, explaining why certain methods work (or don’t) for parrots, and empowers you with clear, science-backed information so you can make informed decisions for your birds.
